Duke Beats Wake

I don't have ESPU so I didn't see the game, but Duke took care of Wake Forest 79 to 71 and moved their record to 26 and 4.

Ryan Kelly was the top scorer for Duke with 23 points. Miles Plumlee was the top rebounder with 10 rebounds. Duke shot 45% and had 40 rebounds as a team.

I don't think I will miss the next game, because it's Carolina Time again, don't miss it, Saturday, March 3rd. at 7:00 pm est. Duke and Carolina

Duke Wins In Overtime Against Virginia Tech

Duke could never pull away from Virginia Tech, but managed to get the win in overtime 70 to 65. The Hokies out shot the Blue Devils from the floor, but Duke out shot Virginia Tech from the free throw line 72% to 43% and that may have been the reason Duke got the win.

Austin Rivers was the top scorer for Duke with 23 points and Miles Plumlee pulled down 16 rebounds for the #4 Blue Devils. Duke already has an outstanding season at 25 and 4, and hasn't even gotten to March Madness yet.

I know a lot of Duke's wins have been close, but it shows the will to win of the Duke players. They are able to stay in control under pressure, like no other Duke team in the past. Duke has won many other games in the past under pressure, but this team seems to take the pressure so much better.

Duke Gets Even With Florida State

Florida State did it once, but Duke says no with a 74 to 66 win in Florida. Duke led most of the game, and had a 13 point lead at one time, but Fla. State was never out of the game.

Andre Dawkins led the scoring for Duke with 22 points and Miles Plumlee led the rebounding with 8 rebounds before fouling out late in the second half.

Duke shot 42% FG and 46% 3 pointers. Florida State shot 39% FG and 26% 3 pointers. The bigger Florida State team out rebounded the Blue Devils 37 to 30.

I was worried about this game, but I think Duke was ready for Florida State this time, even though the Seminoles penetrated the inside, they couldn't do it as much as they did the last time.

Duke Boston College

I didn't get to see the game but I tried to keep up with it on the Internet.
The lead was back and forth the first part of the first half, but Duke took control of the lead about the middle of the first half and ended the first half with a 30 to 21 lead over Boston College.

Duke out scored Boston College 46 to 29 in the second half for a final score of 75 to 50. Duke goes to 23 and 4 and Boston College goes to 8 and 19.

Seth Curry was the top scorer for Duke with 18 points and rebounding honors go to Miles Plumlee and Austin Rivers each with 8 rebounds. Duke picked up a little on the shooting this game shooting 45% FG 75% FT and 45% 3 pointers.

Duke took total control on the boards with 45 rebounds while BC could only manage 20 rebounds. The only negative for Duke was turnovers. Duke had 18 and Boston College had 14.

Duke Uses Some More Magic To Beat N.C. State

It's magic, got to be magic. The Blue Devils pull another one out of the hat. Duke never led in the entire game until about the 5 minute mark of the second half, but adds another notch to their belt beating State 78 to 73.

Seth Curry led the scoring for the Devils with 26 points. Mason Plumlee pulled down 12 rebounds as the top re-bounder for duke, even though State out rebounded Duke 39 to 31. Duke's shooting was off, only shooting 36%, but that didn't matter to Duke, they have magic, no other way to explain it, it's just magic.

State was tough, it was almost impossible for Duke to make a shot inside, and they had the guards covered as well. The foul trouble hurt State, If it hadn't been for State getting into foul trouble I don't think Duke would have been able to come back on N.C. State.

Duke Over Maryland 73 To 55

Maryland kept the game close the first half and Duke never got a comfortable lead the second half, but the Blue Devils were able to stay ahead of the Terrapins the second half and win the game 73 to 55.

Duke had problems shooting only shooting 38%. They also shot poorly from the line 56% and only 37% at 3 point range. Seth Curry was the high scorer for Duke with 19 points.

The larger Duke team did out rebound Maryland 48 to 33 and Miles Plumlee can take credit for 22 of the rebounds. I was worried Duke might still be a little emotional over the Carolina win, and I think they were, but they got the win and now they can concentrate on the areas they need to work on for the next game.

Duke Wins The Big One

Duke stops Carolina with last second shot by Austin Rivers who also led the scoring for Duke. The Blue Devils led just about all the first half, but Carolina took control in the second half.

It looked like Carolina was going to win the game, but Duke closed the gap late in the game and then Rivers drained a 3 pointer at the last second.

Mason Plumlee had a hard job guarding Tyler Zeller, but was able to lead the Devils with 14 rebounds. It was another bad night at the line for Duke and their defense was lacking, but some how Duke got the win.

Duke shot 43% from the floor and the Tar Heels shot 49%. The larger Tar Heels out rebounded the Blue Devils 41 to 31. Carolina got most of their points on the inside while Duke did most of their scoring from the outside.

Final Score 85 to 84, Duke Wins, Duke Wins, Duke Wins.

Go Duke!!!!!!!!!!!

Miami Over Duke In Overtime

Miami had a 14 point lead at the end of the first half, but Duke came back and took the lead with less than 3 minutes left in the game with a shot by Seth Curry. It went back and forth until Austin Rivers made 1 of 2 from the line to take the game to overtime. Miami held off Duke in overtime and took the win 78 to 74.

Seth Curry was the leading scorer for Duke with 22 points and Mason Plumlee was the leading rebounder with 12. The Blue Devils shooting was off they shot 37%, 30% 3 pointers, and only 58% from the line.
Now Duke has to tangle with North Carolina in their next game.

Duke Wins Over Virginia Tech

It looked like Duke might have a close game at the start, but Duke took control and defeated Virginia Tech 75 to 60. Duke made some adjustments because the refs were calling a tight game and were able to pull away from the Hokies and kept the lead the rest of the game.

Duke shot 47% with 31 rebounds and only 7 turnovers. Austin Rivers led the scoring for The Blue Devils with 18 points and Mason Plumlee was the top rebounder with six. Duke will play Miami next and then the big one in Chapel Hill, N.C..
